Filip Yushchenko playing saxophone in the middle of a crowded wedding dance floor under string lights

Weddings

Wedding Saxophonist

Ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dance sets — solo, trio or full band.

Live saxophone changes the temperature of a room. During the ceremony it carries the processional; at cocktail hour it fills the space without taking it over; at the reception it plugs into your DJ and turns a good dance floor into a great one. Filip plays jazz, soul, pop, gospel and originals — never unaccompanied: solo with backing tracks or a guitarist, as a trio, or with a full band.

Ceremony

Processional, recessional, signing. Instrumental versions of your songs.

Cocktail Hour

Smooth jazz and soul standards, light pop. Guests talk; the sax sets the mood.

Dinner

Low-key ambiance, requests welcome.

Dance Sets with your DJ

Live sax over the DJ’s set. Needs one free XLR input on the DJ mixer.

Questions

Do you work with our DJ?

Yes. I plug into the DJ’s mixer (one free XLR input, plus an aux input for backing tracks) and play live over their set. I ask whether a sound engineer will be on site.

Do you play unaccompanied?

Solo always means sax with backing tracks or a guitarist — never a bare saxophone — so the sound is full.

Can you play our first dance or a specific song?

Yes. Send the songs when you book; I prepare instrumental versions.

How do we book?

A short contract and a 50% deposit hold the date. The balance is due before the event day.

How early should we book?

Peak Saturdays go 6–12 months out. For 2027 dates, sooner is better.

How long are the sets?

45-minute sets with 15-minute breaks. Four sets for a four-hour event.
